Red Stag Stalking in Glen Lyon
An early breakfast will be served before departing into the hills of Glen Lyon for a full day of traditional red stag stalking.
Widely regarded as one of Scotland’s finest stalking destinations, Glen Lyon offers vast open hills, remote corries and rugged Highland terrain where native red deer have roamed freely for centuries.
Accompanied by experienced stalkers, you will head deep into the glen by vehicle before continuing on foot across the hills in search of mature Highland stags.
This experience is about far more than the pursuit itself. Red stag stalking is one of Scotland’s oldest sporting traditions and offers a genuine connection to the Highland landscape. The silence of the hills, the changing weather and the challenge of moving unseen, form part of an unforgettable day in the glen.
During the autumn rut, you may witness the dramatic sight and sound of stags competing across the hillsides as their calls echo through the mountains.
A traditional packed Highland lunch and refreshments will be served on the hill while taking in panoramic views across the surrounding mountains and lochs.
For non-stalking guests, alternative activities can be arranged, including scenic tours of Highland Perthshire, whisky distillery visits, clay-pigeon shooting, or countryside walks.
Following the day’s activities, you will return to The Old Manse of Blair to relax and enjoy pre-dinner drinks beside the fire before another evening of exceptional Highland hospitality.
