Our Touring & Fishing Holidays
Scotland offers some of the best salmon and trout fishing destinations in the world, but for many visitors, the real attraction is combining great fishing with the experience of travelling through the country itself. Our touring and salmon fishing vacations are designed for clients who would like to enjoy fishing and exploring the highlights of Scotland all within one trip. Instead of spending their entire holiday in one place, clients can fish on a variety of rivers while exploring Scotland at their own pace.
Each personalised itinerary is built around the client’s exact requirements. Some clients prefer several consecutive days of fly-fishing on different rivers, while others prefer combining fishing with sightseeing, whisky tours, walking, golf, or simply enjoying the scenery and local hospitality. We work closely with every client to create a holiday that feels personal and relaxed rather than fixed or rushed. A typical touring and fishing holiday might begin in Perthshire with salmon fishing on the River Tay before continuing north through the Cairngorms towards Speyside. Clients can then enjoy fishing on the River Spey while also visiting local distilleries and touring through some of Scotland’s most famous Highland scenery. Others may choose to continue west towards Glencoe and the Isle of Skye or carry on their journey further north to cast a line on one of Scotland’s smaller Highland rivers, like the River Connon, Helmsdale or Thurso.
One of the main benefits of combining touring with fishing is the variety it offers. Every river fishes differently and every region of Scotland offers its own character. Some rivers are wide and fast flowing, while others are more stream like and secluded. Touring between locations allows clients to experience much more of what Scotland has to offer while still enjoying excellent fishing throughout their trip in Scotland. Fishing and Touring holidays work particularly well for couples, families, and mixed groups where not everyone wants to be on the river every day. The non-fishers in the party can enjoy shopping, historic castles, sightseeing, wildlife tours, hiking and distillery visits while still being a part of the overall experience of traveling through Scotland together.
No two holidays are the same. Some guests want a fishing only trip, while others simply want a relaxed vacation in Scotland with an occasional day on the river. Our aim is to create an itinerary that perfectly suits our client's requirements.
