Arrival Day
Welcome to Dunkeld which is situated on the banks of the River Tay in stunning Perthshire. Upon arrival check-in to the 4* Dunkeld House Hotel. Relax and enjoy a tipple whilst overlooking the River Tay and mountains beyond. Please note that standard check-in time at the hotel is 15:00hrs.
Nestled in the heart of Perthshire's stunning countryside, Dunkeld House Hotel offers an exceptional experience of Scottish country living. This luxurious four-star country house hotel is set within 280 acres of pristine woodland overlooking the mighty River Tay. Guided Salmon Fishing On The Mighty River Tay
Over the next couple of days’ you will be salmon fishing on the mighty River Tay from the bank or boat dependent on your preference. After breakfast your Salmon Fishing Holidays Scotland guide will be waiting at the Dunkeld House Hotel, ready to meet and greet you before transferring you the short distance to the salmon fishing venue. After fishing your guide will take you back to Dunkeld House Hotel.
Your Ghillie David Gardener will be waiting at the Newtyle Beat of the River Tay ready to meet and greet you. You will be salmon fishing on the crystal clear waters of the mighty River Tay from both the bank and the boat dependent on preference. Enjoy some refreshments and an introduction. You will then have the opportunity to try out different methods of fishing for the Atlantic salmon. This includes fly- fishing, spinning & harling. Your guide will be with you throughout your time on the River Tay, providing you with a unique service. He will give you advice on what tackle to use, point out the best salmon fishing spots, help you with your fishing techniques if required and fly casting. When you hook a wild Atlantic salmon, your guide will be there to advise you during the long and exciting fight, ensuring that you have the best chance of landing that unforgettable River Tay salmon.
Lunch is taken during the hours of 1300hrs – 1400hrs and this is important in order to allow the pools to rest.
Torrance Course, Fairmount St Andrews - Par 72 Championship Course
Today after breakfast travel enjoy the scenic journey from Dunkeld to St Andrews. You will have the opportunity to play 18-holes of the world-famous Torrance course in St Andrews. Please aim to arrive at the Club House for approximately 1350hrs in order to give yourself plenty of time to meet you caddy and take possession of your hire equipment.
Tee-off Time: 1420hrs
The Rusacks hotel is just a stones’ throw away from the 18th hole of the world-famous Old Course. The hotel offers stylish, luxury accommodation with a golfing theme and boasts some of the greatest names known in golfing history. The hotel offer a lovely restaurant and bar area to unwind after a round of golf or a stroll along St Andrews beach. The Bridge Restaurant offers a family friendly environment in which to dine with views over the famous Swican Bridge and the old course.
18-Holes On The Old Course, St Andrews
Today after a leisurely breakfast you will be golfing at the home of Golf, the Old Course, St Andrews. Please aim to arrive at the Club House for approximately 1020hrs in order to give yourself plenty of time to meet you caddy and take possession of your hire equipment.
Tee-off Time: 1050hrs
After your 18-holes on the Old Course enjoy a sumptuous lunch at the Road Hole Restaurant at the Old Course Hotel before embarking on your onward travels.
