Amhuinnsuidhe Castle Overview

Amhuinnsuidhe Castle, designed by the renowned Victorian architect David Bryce, Amhuinnsuidhe stands proudly as the most westerly castle in the British Isles. Its strategic location allows it to capture the essence of romance and beauty. The castle's public rooms are a testament to Bryce's skill, boasting an abundance of natural light and perfectly proportioned spaces. From these rooms, one can indulge in breathtaking views of the sea, both to the south and west. The attention to detail extends to the bedrooms as well, where guests can revel in the same stunning views from one of the castles 12-bedrooms. Each room is adorned with exquisite decor and furnished with antiques and family heirlooms, creating an ambiance that seamlessly blends modern comfort with the warmth of a cherished family home.

True to the architectural style of Scottish houses during that era, the principal rooms are located on the first floor. In addition to the elegant drawing room and paneled dining room, the castle offers a library, billiards room, grand hall, and a cozy sitting room equipped with a television. To ensure a truly luxurious experience, Amhuinnsuidhe Castle is fully staffed, with resident chef David Taylor overseeing the provision of all meals. The emphasis is placed on utilising fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including tantalizing seafood such as lobster, scallops, and langoustines, as well as succulent salmon, sea trout, and the finest venison and lamb from the island. Any special dietary requirements can be accommodated with utmost care and attention.
