The Brown Trout fishing season in Scotland starts on 15th March but usually the most productive times are from late spring and then through the summer months. Often at this time of year once the water gets warmer the trout start to feed more freely after a long winter. We therefore recommend the best times to book the 400 loch Wild Brown Trout Safari from late May through until the end of August.
We have partnered up with the magnificent Scourie Hotel which has legendary status when it comes to trout fishing in Scotland to offer one of the most exciting fishing safari’s for even the most avid trout fishing enthusiast. The family run Scourie Hotel needs little introduction to anglers and has welcomed fishers to this beautiful remote part of Scotland for decades. The hotel has trout fishing available on over 400 lochs and so there are no shortage of options. Brown Trout weighing in excess of three pounds are caught consistently and usually each year a number of fish weighing well over five pounds are landed. The hotel itself has a warm and welcoming bar for anglers to enjoy which is a hive of activity in the evening. The restaurant uses local ingredients to create mouth-watering dishes making it the perfect place to relax after a day on the lochs.

The Scourie Hotel is a mecca for anglers and a truly special place to stay during your trout fishing safari. After dinner you will meet up with the other anglers and fishing guides and this is when the loch’s for your first day’s will be decided.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the Scourie Hotel you will meet your fishing guide at the hotel and then head off to your loch or lochs for your first day’s fishing. Returning to the hotel in the later afternoon you will have time to freshen up and enjoy a refreshment at the bar before dinner. After dinner the following day’s fishing location will be discussed and arranged.
