The North West Highlands are a mecca for wild Brown Trout fishing. This part of Scotland combines some of the best fishing that Scotland has to offer with some of the most beautiful and rugged scenery making it the perfect fishing safari for those wild Brown trout fishing enthusiasts.
The trout fishing safari gives anglers the opportunity to choose from over four hundred lochs set over thirty five thousand acres. Some of these loch are very remote and require a walk whilst others are much more easily accessible. There are twenty boats with outboard motors on selected lochs. The size of fish vary from around half a pound in weight up to seven pounds in some of the lochs. Of course the bigger fish can be more of a challenge to catch. There are also three lochs on the estate which offer Artic Char fishing which is a fish on many anglers bucket list!
In addition to the trout fishing there are also two river systems which enjoy runs of migratory fish. These included the Rhiconich river system and also Loch Stack. These systems enjoy a decent summer run of salmon and Sea trout. As often with many of the rivers in this area when it comes to salmon fishing it can be water dependent and often the fishing is better after rain following a summer spate.
Salmon Fishing Holidays Scotland with our selected partners have carefully designed this fishing safari so visitors get to experience some of the best fishing Scotland has to offer in remote unspoiled surroundings. Anglers that book this safari will stay at the very comfortable and well appointed Scourie Hotel. The hotel is a firm favourite among anglers and is very famous in fishing circles. The family run Scourie Hotel is steeped in fishing history and offers excellent accommodation in the very comfortable rooms. There are an abundance of dining options at the hotel with locally sourced ingredients being used in the kitchen.
We recommend to get the best from your fishing safari that you stay at the Scourie Hotel for four nights and fish for three days. This will give you a chance to fish different lochs and get a real feel for your surroundings. After a day’s fishing on a remote hill loch there is nothing better than relaxing with other anglers in the hotel bar sharing stories of the days catches over a wee dram!
