We are now entering the last week of the Scottish salmon fishing season on some rivers. Famous Scottish salmon rivers like the Spey, Helmsdale, and Halladale amongst others all finish at the end of this week. Many of these rivers have already had a good year, with decent numbers of Scottish salmon caught. A good final week of the season would put the icing on the cake.
The River Dee has also enjoyed a good year, especially during the summer months. The Upper beats on the river (above Aboyne Bridge) close at the end of this week. Further downstream, the river is open until the 15th of October. As we move into October, time is running out to catch that one last salmon of 2017, so why not have a cast? Nothing beats finishing your salmon fishing season on a high, by landing some autumn silver!
