Heavy rain fell across many parts of Scotland at the beginning of this week. This has led to a lift in water on many of our Scottish rivers. Rivers like the Tweed, Tay, Dee and Spey amongst many others experienced a decent rise in water. During the summer months anglers always welcome any rainfall, as a lift in water at this time of year can often be the catalyst for some good sport. The recent rise in water should encourage decent numbers of fresh salmon and grilse to run our Scottish rivers, making the salmon fishing prospects for the weeks ahead in Scotland very promising.
